How to care for your plants and terrariums
TERRARIUM CARE GUIDE
Terrariums are the ultimate low maintenance indoor gardens as they are a fully functioning tiny ecosystem! Mostly self-sustaining, with the plants watering themselves through transpiration and condensation. However, maintaining cleanliness will be key to the health of your Terrarium.
Keep the container clean by removing dust or moisture from the glass. Also, remove any dead leaves to prevent growth of fungi.
Terrariums should be kept in a bright spot with indirect light such as near a window. They should never be placed in direct sunlight, as this will quickly create high temperatures which can kill the plants.
Open Terrariums will need watering on a somewhat frequent basis. Since there are no drainage holes in these containers, the addition of any moisture must be done very carefully.
Never pour water directly into the closed Terrarium, instead try misting with a spray bottle, adjusting the nozzle to the finest mist setting. It is always better to underwater then overwater, as it is difficult to remove excess moisture.
A gentle weekly mist is sufficient watering unless your moss is drying up, or you have a small vessel, in which case it may require more frequent watering. Water should never be allowed to stand at the bottom of the container or on the surface of the soil.
Closed Terrariums will require water much less frequently, as a healthy system is often able to maintain its own balance. Give your closed Terrarium a light spray once a month if required. Do not mist if you see the glass of your Terrarium look foggy.
Occasionally rotate the Terrarium to make sure the plant growth is even.

TIPS FOR THRIVING HOUSE PLANTS
In today's fast-paced world, adding a touch of green to your living space not only beautifies it but also brings a sense of tranquility and connection to nature.
Houseplants have become an essential part of modern interior design, contributing to a healthier and more vibrant living environment. However, the key to having lush, thriving plants, lies in understanding their needs and providing the right care.
Here's your ultimate guide to plant care, offering tips and tricks to keep your green companions happy and healthy.

UNDERSTANDING YOUR PLANTS NEEDS

Before diving into the specifics, it's crucial to understand that each plant has unique requirements. Factors such as light, water, soil, and temperature vary significantly from one species to another. Therefore, the first step in plant care is getting to know your plants.
Research their specific needs or consult with a local nursery to ensure you're providing the right conditions for growth.
LIGHT

Direct Sunlight: Some plants thrive in bright, direct sunlight. These are usually placed near south-facing windows.
Indirect Sunlight: Many houseplants prefer indirect light. East or west-facing windows are ideal for these plants.
Low Light: Some plants can thrive in low light conditions, making them perfect for rooms with north-facing windows or areas away from direct sunlight.
WATER
Overwatering vs. Underwatering: The most common mistake in plant care is incorrect watering. Overwatering can lead to root rot, while under-watering can stress the plant. Check the Soil: Before watering, check the soil moisture. If the top inch of the soil is dry, it's typically a good indicator that your plant needs water. If possible, use filtered water to avoid the build-up of minerals in the soil.
SOIL AND FERTILISER
Right Soil Mix: Use a soil mix that is appropriate for your plant type. Some plants require well-draining soil, while others may need a more moisture-retentive mix. Fertilize Wisely: During the growing season (spring and summer), fertilize your plants as needed. However, be careful not to over-fertilize, as this can harm the plants.
TEMPERATURE AND HUMIDITY
Ideal Temperature: Most houseplants prefer temperatures between 65-75°F (18-24°C). Avoid placing plants near drafty windows or heat sources. Humidity Levels: Tropical plants often require higher humidity levels. You can increase humidity by misting the leaves, placing a humidifier nearby, or using a pebble tray.
TIPS FOR HEALTHY PLANTS
Regular Pruning: Remove dead or yellowing leaves to encourage new growth and prevent the spread of disease.
Pest Control: Keep an eye out for signs of pests and treat them promptly. Neem oil is a natural option for many common houseplant pests.
Repotting: As plants grow, they may outgrow their pots. Repotting into a larger container can provide them with the space and nutrients they need to continue thriving.
CONCLUSION
Caring for houseplants can be a deeply rewarding experience, offering not only aesthetic benefits but also a sense of accomplishment as you watch your plants flourish. By understanding and catering to their specific needs, you can ensure that your green companions remain vibrant and healthy, adding life and colour to your home. Whether you're a seasoned plant parent or new to the world of gardening, remember that patience and attentiveness are key to successful plant care.
Happy gardening!
